Microsoft updates its selection of Xbox Game Pass games, adding a new day one game and giving an early access title its full release.
Microsoft has updated its selection of Xbox Game Pass games today by adding a new day one game as well as the full version of a title that was previously available to play through the Xbox Game Preview program. The Xbox Game Pass subscription service is updated multiple times per month, ensuring that subscribers regularly have new games to check out.
Tuesday, September 27 may be an especially exciting day when it comes to new Xbox Game Pass games for September 2022. Day one releases are always a big deal, as they give the Xbox Game Pass subscription service incredible value. Both of today’s offerings could technically be considered “day one” releases, even though Grounded has technically been available in early access for quite some time.
The two new games added to Xbox Game Pass of September 27 are the aforementioned Grounded, a first-party Xbox game developed by Obsidian Entertainment, and Moonscars, a new 2D Soulslike. There are no reviews for Moonscars at the time of this writing, but Soulslike fans may want to check it out regardless.
New Xbox Game Pass Games Today
- Grounded (Cloud/Consoles/PC) – September 27
- Moonscars (Cloud/Consoles/PC) – September 27
There are some reviews available for Grounded, however, and the game has enjoyed a mostly positive reaction so far. It seems that many are impressed with the improvements that Obsidian has made to Grounded since the game’s early access launch. Since its early access start, Grounded has been updated to include new gameplay features, areas, enemies, story elements, and more, so as of the latest update, it offers a complete gaming experience.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Grounded is inspired by Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, casting players as children who are shrunk to miniscule size and forced to survive the wild dangers of their backyard. Players have to work together to build shelter, craft weapons and armor, and find supplies to aid them in their journey to solve the game’s mysteries and defeat the insect monsters that are attempting to eat them.
Grounded and Moonscars are the latest games added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but they aren’t the last new titles coming to the service this month. September 29 will see the addition of Let’s Build a Zero as well as the PC version of Valheim, while September 30 will give Xbox Game Pass subscribers across all platforms access to the racing game PAW Patrol Grand Prix.
