The Quarry is an interactive drama horror video game developed by Supermassive Games. It is the spiritual successor to Until Dawn
First Appear On This Channel
Hit LIKE on the video if you would like to see me replay Until Dawn after this?
I love Abi and Nick, they're so cute together! 🥰 Especially Abi, she's my favourite character!
33:58 just where i paused and where ill look later
WHY THE FUCK DID U KILL THE MOM JACOB
all characters were shit.
guys were all stupid whiny incompetent clowns.
girls know it all, can do everything, be reasonable mostly.
in earlier games like until dawn, all were goofy … but now its super girls with clown dudes. annoying!
I hate how Emma around 50:00 is like "I don't wanna be waiting around, so YOU go and look for stuff, Abi", and is all commanding and shit. Ugh, I don't like anything about her. Yeah, she has her badass moments, but that does not counterbalance her assholery.
As an autistic person, I van confidently say that Ryan was 100% autistic coded even if it wasn't intentional. That's one of the reasons a lot of people don't think he has much of an interesting personality. His monotone voice isn't him not having emotion it's more him not understanding tone and not knowing how to convey emotions as easy
Gee Jack, thinking bears can't run fast isn't completely incorrect. The "short faced bear" which lived during the ice age could run 30-40 mph. Plus, it was huge, too. Here's a description of it: "Also called the bulldog bear, the giant short-faced bear (Arctodus simus) was undoubtedly the fastest running bear that ever lived. Rangier and longer legged than any bear today, it was about five feet at the shoulders when walking and stood as tall as 12 feet on its hind legs. Unlike pigeon-toed modern bears, its toes pointed straight forward, enabling it to walk with a fast, purposeful gait. It probably could run over 40 miles per hour despite weighing over 1500 pounds." I want a video game with Ice Age animals in it. Those ice animals were huge and scary, it would be a great game idea.
At first I was feeling sympathetic towards Eliza just as with the rest of the characters in other moments. But in the end Eliza is a particular character that never accepted the consequences of her own actions. She blamed the curse on everyone else when Silas had his problems as a human as well that made him prone to turn wild at any given moment. By bitting Caleb even as a human he spread the curse. He should have never been an act in his mother's business that couldn't cover up any mess. If he was out of sight none of this would have happened, including the hard decision of putting him down.
I wouldn't recommend but now I really wonder what would have happened if Kaitlyn did not investigate and just quietly hid in the kitchen with Dylan. I hope they wouldn't get stuck there and if anything sneak out the window together and maybe find Jacob or someone. This would give Caleb time to turn back.
I wonder if not having blown off the old lady's head wouldn't have aggravated the family and gotten Ryan stabbed badly, therefore leading to him then having to get deliberately bitten by Laura and later forced to choose between killing Chris or endangering again himself and everyone else in the room.
I think Ryan is my favorite character. In the beginning he was kind of weird but throughout the game he has so much more bravery and all that stuff.
I would have laughed soo hard if the makers of this game put a singular BEAR in the ending shot…or It would have been a secret bossfight if you 100% the game
Dewey? Ded
1:21:20 – Funny you say that. Miles Robbins, who plays Dylan, was Dave in Halloween 2018!
Imagine a werewolf bear though.. damn
the last 15 minutes were so dissapointing, wish we could see it from the characters point of view or showing the podcasters so we get something to look at, it got so boring at the end :/
In 1:09:34 The three piggies and the big bad wolf
I enjoyed watching the playthrough by Jack and the game had some exciting and interesting parts. However, it doesn't compare to Until Dawn and the ending, both with Silas and the dreadful podcast, was a letdown. I got so bored I had to skip to the end of the podcast. I agree with that playing the game again wouldn't provide anything new really. Hopefully the next game will be on par with Until Dawn!
Jack if u didn't shoot him all 3 of you would die
the only problem i have with these characters is that they side with a chick who can kill them at any time and convince them to kill the family who are only tiring to protect them and chris instead of trying to kill the wolves like whats the hunters gotta do with the wolves, the wolves arent gonna die with the hunters. all they had to do was stay inside untill sun rise
I actually preferred house of ashes to the quarry. Mainly bc I feel like you got to know each character more, not just a few. Also HOA has, like the other games, interview bits in the credits to see what happened to them or what their mindsets are. It’s weird that The Quarry didn’t do that. They could’ve had the interviews from the start of the credits and then do the podcast, idk tho I’m not a game dev, but it’s tedious just listening to the podcast bc you think it’s important and then it’s actually bs.
Laura and Dylan were my favs 🙂
I hope they make part 2 love this game and Until Dawn to
Why does the podcast at the end give me such Georgie & Jon vibes from What the Ghost?
Is it just me or does the podcast guy sounds like the same voice for Max?
I think that the money that he wasn't using for renovations was probably going to the silver bullets
I'm not sure if this makes me a bad person, but I kind of feel bad for the Hacketts
So far I have yet to save everyone, it's actually not really Jacob's fault had he known about the werewolves he wouldn't have disabled the van.
I want the ending where they somehow save everyone without killing anyone.
I really liked this game – but I really wish the ending was better. The whole sequence of finding Silas in the woods and shooting him was so anti-climatic, I really wanted some kind of a "boss battle," like all the "Don't Move" sequences at the end of Until Dawn. The "Don't Breathe" mechanic was really total nonsense as soon as you realized how it worked so I would not have wanted the ending to be a bunch of those, but even a bunch of QTEs and very quick decisions needing to be made would have been more exciting than one shot to the back of a stationary target. And then of course the "endings." I remember being so intrigued by the idea of this game having like a hundred endings, only to discover that what that actually means is just a hundred different combinations of those ending info cards showing who survived/died and how. Like most people, what I really wanted was to see the characters reunited at camp after Silas' death. Heck, Laura did ALL that to save Max and we don't even get to see her go back to the island for him! And what the heck happened to Nick after he transformed and then ran off for some unexplained reason? I don't know if it was a budget problem, but it feels like the game just suddenly stops at Silas' death when there should have been another full chapter of game play as an epilogue.
I have a hard time deciding whether I like this more or less than Until Dawn. Dylan is absolutely my favourite character from both games, and I really enjoy Travis as well. I think as a whole I like the summer camp/werewolf story more than the mountain lodge/wendigo story. I wish there was more behind the Dylan/Ryan dynamic and that you had more options to push them towards each other (and that we could actually see the results of that in an epilogue chapter.) It was nice to have a queer character whose entire personality didn't revolve around being queer. And I wish some of the mocap was a little less janky, especially for Emma. Why is her mouth so out of proportion to her face? When she's doing her vlogger thing in the tree house, she looks like one of the characters from Truth or Dare with the big stupid CGI smile taking up half their face. Until Dawn definitely was not faultless either, though. That game had it's own mocap/uncanny valley issues and some of the characters decisions made no sense to me (Ashley letting Chris die based on the decision he makes in Josh's Saw trap has always bugged the crap out of me, I don't know why everyone rags on Em so much when Ashley was by far the worst character in that game.) I think if I was forced to choose, though, I'd have to go against the grain and say I'd pick The Quarry over Until Dawn.
Wish they didn’t make the werewolves like basically just like the wendigos smh
Our city put out a poll about what to name the new school, and a lot of people said, “schooly Mcschool face”
1:26:47 was out of nowhere, haven't laughed so loud before
Im with those in the comments saying its an underwhelming ending.
We didnt get any closure for ANYBODY.
You put all these people together and have them interract and then the reveal for what happenedto them takes place in a long obnoxious podcast and a couple screenshots on a computer…
If i recall correctly, until dawn at least had each character talking for themselves in the police station?? That was a little more satisfying.
Spoiler~!
They're in a junkyard full of cars. Why didn't they check the cars for parts? Though love the werewolf is a junkyard dog vibe I'm getting.
I really appreciate that the dialogue in this game is so authentic with Dylan and Ryan, but especially Ryan. Ryan's muffled voice and deadpan tone sounds EXACTLY like a teenager and the earbuds hanging out of his shirt would have been super accurate if it weren't for Air Pods becoming so prevalent in today's society. Dylan going "RIP megaphone" is exactly like something I'd say to my friends nowadays. Just lots of great details to make these actors look younger… for these two. The others not so much. But credit where its due right?
That was the fucking ending? A fucking podcast?? 😭💀
So Sean I'm not sure if you'll ever read this but the song you were talking about with "big bad wolf" is three little pigs by Primus
1:11:15, Jack saved max’s life, if you swim to shore he instantly dies to Silas
so Silas was the original or was bitten before and was shown as a circus attraction thats why its Silius the dog boy
The stronger phrase means that if the werewolves don't kill you then they will make you stronger
if u spare silas travis dies
Holy crap, they really rushed the ending. What a shame….
"..is there a way to..?"!? You killed ALL of the people you were meaning to protect man! None of T's family made it, that whole story was pointless! 🤣
Gradeaundera: what doesn't kill you may or may not make you stronger, results may vary
thats probably the funniest shit ive heard in a minute
"You're a fucker!"
he sounded so serious when he said it too lmao
My jaw dropped when she was shot. 😂
Ya feckin eejit, you've been shown time time n time again they can't go in the water and you choose te fekkin stay on the island, you EEEEJIT I'm fekkin screaming
